Following the highly successful $65 million opening and the massive hit that TMNT was able to achieve among movie-goers, the movie producers had announced that the much awaited movie sequel-for fans, at least-is set to premiere on June 3, 2016. Once again, the movie is going to be produced by Platinum Dunes along with screenwriters Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles grossed $349,359,771 worldwide with a $185,000,000 budget.

Plot Summary: The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. Paramount Pictures’ and Michael Bay’s reboot of the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” film franchise has once again been pushed back. The film was once imagined as being released at the end of this year before being pushed to June 6th, 2014. The studio has now announced that the film will debut on August 8th, two months later. The reasoning was cited as competition during that period with other major films; however, it will now debut a mere week after Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
Actors Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher and Pete Ploszek sported hi-tech motion capture suits and helmets as they filmed a battle scene on Friday for the Michael Bay-produced reboot.
The only details marking their individual characters were coloured armbands which matched their turtle’s mask.
The trio appeared to be filming a fight scene, transported in a van by foot soldiers with chains attached to their ankles and wrists.
The new scenes are a 21st century update on the three original films, released in 1990, 1991 and 1993 respectively.
For those movies, the actors wore special suits made of foam rubber latex created by The Jim Henson Creature Shop in London, with a lighter less detailed ensemble made for action and stunt scenes.
The Turtle’s faces were controlled by motorised cables, located in the creature’s shells.
Nowadays, using the latest technology, dots are placed on the actor’s face for computer animators to capture emotional nuances and complex movements.
According to website screenrant.com, the film aims to bring the Turtles to life using a mixture of real people and digital character, in a similar method to that used by Avatar and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Producer Michael Bay is confident that the new technology will pay off when the film is released next year.
‘When you see this movie, kids will believe one day that these turtles do exist, when we’re done’ he said.
Deadline reports veteran actor William Fichtner known by Prison Break tv show has joined the Michael Bay-produced reboot in an unnamed role described as “a lead with iconic stature in the Turtles’ mythology.” Considering that all of the other major characters have been cast, from the four title heroes to their mentor Splinter, who else can it possibly be other than their arch-enemy Shredder, leader of the Foot Clan?
You probably heard Michael Bay under fire for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. The new incarnation directed by Jonathan Liebesman will utilise both CGI and live action, using performance capture to bring the crime-fighters to life, in a similar vein to James Cameron’s Avatar.

Storyline: Aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.

Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, recently told MTV: “From what I’ve seen, it’s easily the best Turtle movie yet, we’re talking Raid: Redemption-style fight scenes; we’re talking about epic Rise of the Planet of the Apes sort of effects.”
If everything will go right and Michael will get a good script it will be an one hell of a movie with a lot of special effects and stunts.
